The Psychometrician position at Pearson aims to support the testing programs of professional clients by conducting item and test analysis, equating, job analysis, standard setting, and other psychometric activities to ensure the production of quality tests and the validity and reliability of client deliverables.
Requirements
- Experience in test theory (IRT and Classical).
- Experience writing syntax/code for data manipulation and statistical analyses using SAS, R, Python, or SPSS.
- Knowledge of computer-based test construction and development.
- Knowledge of databases and item-banking.
- Experience with statistical software.
- PhD in Psychometrics, Educational Measurement, or related field
- Experience in applied test development, including the construction, processing, analysis, and reporting of large-scale examinations.
Responsibilities
- Manipulate and validate data files.
- Scoring: Identify and/or develop the way each test is scored.
- Test and item analysis: Analyze test and item-level results using appropriate methods.
- Equating, linking & scaling of tests.
- Item bank maintenance: Work with content development to ensure that item banks meet the needs of the program.
- Quality control: Ensures accuracy of tests and test analyses.
- Technical documentation: Produce technical documentation related to item, test and program performance.
Other
- Requires a PhD in Psychometrics, Educational Measurement, or related field; and 1 year of experience in related position
- 10% travel potentially required (Domestic and International)
