The Shipboard Test Organization at Electric Boat is looking to develop and implement test program quality plans and procedures to measure compliance with department policy and standards.
Requirements
- Knowledge of VIRGINIA Class and COLUMBIA Class manufacturing plans and ship’s construction sequence, shipyard standard practices, ship safety requirements and the integrated master schedule (IMS)
- Demonstrated experience with Tag out User Manual (TUMS), Manual for the Control of Testing and Ship Conditions (6010 Manual), and Manual for Control of Testing (MCT)
- Strong technical knowledge and experience with submarine operations and test programs
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
- The ability to make sound recommendations based on Earned Value Management System (EVMS) metrics
- Demonstrated understanding of EB business systems and software including Electronic Desktop, Interactive Test Procedures (ITP), Team Center, EB7G, EB3G and Microsoft Office tools
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement test program quality plans and procedures
- Assign and maintain weekly surveillances designed to measure compliance with department policy and standards
- Analyze and report on strengths and weaknesses in the organization using total quality metrics and surveillance results
- Participate with staff and peers on means to correct and improve performance to standards
- Investigate weaknesses and develop corrective actions for recurring discrepancies and deficiencies
- Regular interface with project test teams and a leadership role in the Test Discipline Steering Team
- Collaboration with D272’s internal training organization, EB’s workforce development team, and Audit and Assessment
Other
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of relevant (submarine/naval) experience in training or as a quality analyst
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of Electric Boat management and Customer
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Ability to climb, crawl, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, stoop, and twist in a physical work environment
