Newport News Shipbuilding is looking to solve quality control issues in their shipbuilding processes, ensuring that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Experience with reviewing and understanding Re-Entry Control packages.
- Experience with working on submarines in accordance with SUBSAFE requirements.
- Experience with procedural and/or training development.
- Knowledge of the bounding and corrective action process.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, processes, and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses.
- Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
- Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
- Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
- Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications to liabilities, processes, and procedures.
- Aid in the establishment and sustainment of a formal training and qualification program for the SUBSAFE Re-Entry Control (REC) Certification Team.
- Develop and maintain a formal method for conducting reviews of required OQE.
