Intertek is seeking a Quality and Safety Engineer to maintain the Quality Management System and ISO 17025 accreditation, and to assist with safety-related tasks and projects within their Transportation Technologies team.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Quality improvement tools and statistics is required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
- Experience implementing Quality Improvement initiatives in a testing laboratory environment is desired.
- Experience in working with the following management systems is desired: ISO 17025 or ISO 9001
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and/or Six Sigma certification is desired.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the site’s Quality Management System and ISO 17025 accreditation and scope.
- Drive continuous quality improvements by performing internal audits on test methods and the quality system; identifying and documenting non-conformances; assigning corrective & preventative actions; and performing follow up verifications to ensure actions taken are effective.
- Develop and implement quality improvement metrics/standards/procedures.
- Track and report all project progress, successes and failures to stake holders.
- Document process improvement initiatives including methodologies used, new processes implemented, and validation of observed improvement.
- Assist with the Site Safety program through hazard observations, documentation of near-misses and incidents, root cause investigations and safety training.
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree required; in Engineering, Quality or other related area or the equivalent in education, experience and training
- Two years of experience in a testing, industrial or manufacturing setting is required
- Must demonstrate a high degree of emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, and a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to write reports in a clear, concise, and coherent manner.
- Must have the ability to lead breakout teams and facilitate projects from start to finish.
- Must have the ability to share outcomes with the management team in a presentation format.
