CMC is looking to improve its quality control and process improvement within its manufacturing environment to ensure product quality, reduce defects, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in quality control or process improvement in a manufacturing environment, plastics processing industry preferred
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and quality management system
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel, Power BI)
- Serve as a subject matter expert in SAP Quality Module, SAP Inventory Module, and Instron systems; lead training and system optimization efforts
- Use data analytics to monitor trends, identify improvement opportunities, and report on KPIs
Responsibilities
- Manage QA lab operations, including personnel scheduling, training, equipment calibration, accreditation program compliance, and data integrity
- Oversee product certification and ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards
- Lead investigations and corrective actions for nonconforming products
- Maintain and improve laboratory quality systems and documentation
- Oversee customer complaint log and ensure corrective action plan implementation
- Identify, analyze, and improve production and warehousing processes using Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis tools
- Develop and implement process control plans and performance metrics
Other
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field preferred
- Coach and mentor QA and production team members
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence
- Lead cross-functional improvement projects to reduce defects, improve throughput, and enhance product quality
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to standardize best practices and eliminate waste
