ACCO is looking for a QA/QC Inspector to ensure the quality of industrial processes, materials, and products, specifically focusing on pipe and equipment installation, welding inspection, and oversight of subcontractor installation and quality within their projects.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Quality Control
- Minimum of 3 years focused on ASME B31 piping codes, industrial and commercial construction, fabrication, welding, non-destructive testing, and/or other similar fields.
- Current certification in accordance with AWS QC-1 as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred.
- ICC Mechanical – Commercial Certification preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Responsibilities
- Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
- Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
- Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether the product has been vetted by ACCO for future purchases from the vendor.
- Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies, codes and procedures.
- Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
- Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
- Maintains a working knowledge of codes and specifications for current industry quality standards.

- The quality team may assign other duties.
- Other duties as assigned by the Site QC Supervisor or QA/QC Director in conjunction with the project team.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Regular & routine attendance.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job includes Jaeger (J1) vision annually.
- Regularly required to walk, climb stairs, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday, with one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks.
- Based on business needs to and from the primary office to regional branch offices & job sites.
- Varying work in varying locations.
