ACCO is looking to solve quality assurance problems in industrial processes, materials, and products by hiring a QA/QC Inspector to represent the company and its subcontractors for pipe and equipment installation, welding inspection, and oversight of subcontractor installation and quality.

Requirements

  • Current certification in accordance with AWS QC-1 as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and /or ICC Mechanical – Commercial Certification preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Knowledge of ASME B31 piping codes, industrial and commercial construction, fabrication, welding, non-destructive testing, and/or other similar fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Quality Control with a minimum of 3 years focused on relevant fields.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether the product has been vetted by ACCO for future purchases from the vendor.
  • Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies, codes and procedures.
  • Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
  • Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of codes and specifications for current industry quality standards.

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job includes Jaeger (J1) vision annually.
  • Regularly required to walk, climb stairs, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Travel based on business needs to and from the primary office to regional branch offices & job sites.
