Ensure the quality of railcars by performing final inspections and identifying non-compliant items to maintain industry standards and customer requirements
Requirements
- Ability to use railroad gauges, testing techniques, and test equipment necessary for railcar inspections
- Ability to instruct employees on proper railcar maintenance activities using established procedures and training materials
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections of the final product to assess the quality of work performed and compliance to company standards
- Work with production to identify and plan for the day’s shipments to ensure verifications and inspections are made in a timely manner
- Use railroad gauges, testing techniques, and test equipment necessary for railcar inspections
- Report adverse and/or non-compliant items to the responsible supervisor and QA Manager
- Communicate technical information verbally and in writing
- Instruct employees on proper railcar maintenance activities using established procedures and training materials

- Able to pass drug screen and physical
- Able to perform tasks that require climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms
