Requirements

  • Experience inspecting, measuring, and testing mechanical, electrical and/or electronic parts and generating results reports accordingly.
  • 2 to 3 yrs. of experience in quality/manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working in quality area
  • Utilization of measurement tools or measurement systems (CMM, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Charts (SPC)
  • Experience with 8D or DMAIC methodology
  • Ability to work with physical and virtual tools to create dimensional reports, test, and inspection reports

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming inspections and testing on mechanical and electrical parts from suppliers.
  • Utilizes measurement tools or measurement systems (CMM, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.) to produce data that reflects the accurate characteristics of materials, products, systems, and processes.
  • Create dimensional reports, test, and inspection reports per part specifications including variation results and/or SPC through the help of physical and virtual tools.
  • Diagnostic and repair electronic or electric parts, if needed and approved by management.
  • Ensure suppliers test reports are uploaded into ABB portals and collect the data to build SPC to promote predictive results.
  • Investigate and trouble-shoot product defects or failures in-house or from the customer field to determine root cause and suggest corrective actions through 8D or DMAIC methodology.
  • Process nonconformance material and work with the Supplier Quality Engineers so that supplier corrects their processes or ABB adjusts specifications.
