Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking to resolve departmental process issues and ensure product quality and cost efficiency in their steel production process
Requirements
- Proficient computer skills
- Bachelor of Science in Metallurgy / Materials Science Engineering or other related engineering degrees
- 3 or more years’ experience in steel processing, steelmaking, or an industrial environment
Responsibilities
- Provides technical expertise to resolve departmental process issues, ensuring product quality and cost efficiency
- Conducts research to identify alternative solutions that meet quality and cost requirements, ensuring customer satisfaction through adherence to product specifications
- Investigates field projects to develop cost-effective solutions for technical process problems. Develops, analyzes, prepares, and executes technical process projects
- Assists in establishing departmental quality objectives, directing CAR, PMCAR, Continuous Improvement, preventive actions, and PCE/PCR systems
- Ensures quality assurance through inspection and disposition of products before shipment
- Performs metallographic testing and analysis of steel products
- Fosters effective communication with Operations and Maintenance regarding process applications related to safety, quality, and cost
Other
- Bachelor of Science in Metallurgy / Materials Science Engineering or other related engineering degrees
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Capability to work in a hot, dusty industrial environment
