The company is looking for a Quality Engineer to lead and supervise the overall product quality of assigned product lines to ensure compliance and prevent customer issues across all in-house activities, including Engineering, Assembly/Test, Inspection, and QA documentation. This role drives continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing customer quality metrics and internal quality metrics.
Requirements
- Familiarity with ASME codes (Sections I, II, V, VIII, and IX), PED (European Pressure Equipment Directive), and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
- Proficient in ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems and audit processes
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), Lean manufacturing principles, and Six Sigma methodologies
- Skilled in problem-solving techniques such as 8D, 5 Whys, Six-Step Method, and DMAIC
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- 2 years of experience in Product Quality functions, including handling customer returns, Assembly & testing, Machining and process monitoring within the Valve manufacturing industry
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Quality functions, including handling customer returns, Assembly & testing, Machining and process monitoring within the Valve manufacturing industry
Responsibilities
- Conducts detailed analysis of customer returns and internal quality data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer quality metrics (e.g., PPM, response time) and internal metrics (e.g., FPY, scrap, rework).
- Investigates customer complaints and internal manufacturing issues.
- Drives root cause analysis and implements effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure long-term resolution and process stability.
- Applies tools such as Process Mapping, FMEA, and Control Plans to proactively monitor processes and verify compliance.
- Identifies gaps and drives CAPA to prevent potential customer issues.
- Develops and implements process enhancements and methodologies to improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and operational reliability.
