Safran Federal Systems is seeking a Quality Engineer to serve as the primary point of contact for customers and a vital link to internal stakeholders, ensuring quality standards and customer specifications are met for their Resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (R-PNT) solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and related quality systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply quality tools such as Pareto analysis, Fishbone diagrams, % why’s, FMEA, and control charts.
  • Proficient in extracting and analyzing KPI metrics, identifying trends and lead Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action implementation.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with PLM tools.
  • Experience implementing AS9100 standards is a plus.
  • Skilled in completing customer-specific quality documentation and onboarding forms.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer contracts/Terms & Conditions to provide assessments of quality-specific clauses
  • Oversee the tracking and analysis of customer performance scorecards for strategic and high-value accounts, ensuring accurate representation of quality metrics and delivery performance
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company and customer representatives during on-site source inspections, ensuring clear communication and alignment on quality expectations
  • Support final shipping inspection process, ensuring all materials, components, and final products meet Quality standards and customer specifications
  • Serve as the primary lead for managing and resolving customer-issued SCARs, ensuring timely and thorough responses that meet customer expectations and industry standards
  • Act as the primary coordinator for customer-mandated First Article Inspections (FAIs) on custom or special programs, ensuring compliance with AS9102 standards or customer-specific requirements

Other

  • Prior experience supporting Aerospace, Defense, or Government customers is a plus.
  • Eligibility for or possession of a DoD Security Clearance is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable engaging with customers and internal stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Position based in the U.S. with occasional travel (up to 10%) to customer sites or alternate facilities.
