Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team to transform the future of flight and drive quality improvements in their organization
Requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Understanding of Pratt & Whitney's Quality Procedures, Quality Management Systems and experience using CORE tools/continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma and LEAN
- Experience with Solumina and SAP software
- Demonstrated effective root cause determination skills, Red-X, Fault Tree, etc.
- Experience in aerospace machining, forgings, castings, or composites
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Knowledge and effective practice of Environmental, Health and Safety requirements
Responsibilities
- Review and approve First Article inspections, Solumina Work Instruction updates, and Process Tryouts; perform product, process and work instruction audits
- Assist teams to investigate the root cause of customer escapes and non-conformances and determine appropriate corrective/preventive actions
- Interface with various Engineering, Operations, and Materials groups to resolve technical/quality issues
- Review and implement various internal and regulatory requirement changes; provide technical guidance and training to OEM Parts Inspectors
- Assist with Escape investigations within Business Units
Other
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field and 2 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, quality, project management or related industrial environment
- Ability to obtain, organize and analyze quality data
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
- Onsite work environment, with employees working primarily onsite
