Oshkosh Defense is looking to solve business and manufacturing process problems by implementing continuous improvement, eliminating waste, and re-engineering processes to meet safety, quality, and business expectations.
Requirements
- Must interpret technical drawings including characteristics such as views, title blocks, dimensioning, GD&T symbols, etc. Interpret specification requirements in relation to product and process characteristics.
- Advanced training/experience in the use of statistical techniques and process improvement methods.
- Must have experience with and be able to exhibit the use of structured problem-solving techniques utilizing computer applications.
- Six-sigma certification & CQE.
- Customer quality audit experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead continuous improvement of quality control testing, detection and defect prevention.
- Lead resolution of complex quality issues using problem solving methodology and engaging cross functional teams.
- Subject matter expert in all product platforms in order to be versatile support.
- Facilitate quality led forums with various teams providing business impact, risk assessment and data-based guidance, identifying where there are largest opportunities, such as to increase first pass yield, reduce defects per unit, and achieve strategic deployment business targets.
- Lead the identification and implementation of lean manufacturing or six-sigma projects.
- Lead teams in applying the six sigma DMAIC methodology to eliminate waste.
- Perform process capability studies internally and externally.
Other
- Mentor and train Quality Inspectors and Quality Analysts in process improvement activities.
- Communicate effectively and work inter-functionally with Employee Teams, Quality, Engineering, Global Procurement & Supply Chain (GPSC), Contracts, Sales and Manufacturing to resolve complex quality related issues, deficiencies and improve processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
- Five (5) or more years of experience.
- Internal Contacts: Contact across departments or divisions with employees involving persuasion of others, absent formal authority, to conform to a policy interpretation or recommend course of action.
