Emerson is looking to solve safety, quality, and production challenges in their Marshalltown, IA location by hiring an engineering student to assist with various aspects of the Quality department.
Requirements
- Undergraduate student currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Experience working in a team environment
- PC skills including Microsoft Office
- General Lean Manufacturing knowledge
- College status of a junior or senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology
- Six months generalized work experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other engineers, teams, and departments to develop and implement solutions to safety, quality, and production challenges
- Document current and future state workflow and potential process improvements
- Lead and participate in lean manufacturing and process improvement projects
- Attend department, team, and project meetings as necessary
- Complete projects as assigned by Quality Manager
- Lead and implement a 5S project on our gage center and improvement of inspection processes
- Work on special projects

- Undergraduate student currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree
- Ability to work 40 hours a week during the scheduled semester
