Corning's Optical Communications segment needs to ensure new products and product changes are entered accurately and in a timely manner into the Wilmington plant systems to prevent suspect fiber from shipping and enable passing fiber/WIP to be used in manufacturing and sold.
Requirements
- Familiarity with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to learn new computer systems quickly
- Ability to compile and analyze data, producing reports if needed
- Understanding of fiber process and equipment
- Hands-on technical skills using test and measuring equipment
- Ability to use stereomicroscope and compound microscope
- Experience in ISO 9001, TL 9000 is a plus
Responsibilities
- Own entering new products into our systems (CAMSTAR & Factory Works)
- Be responsible for product changes and maintaining allowed product change list
- Own disposition of recurring quarantines (PCCA, PMD, Cure, Bow, etc.)
- Support getting ware released for shipments
- Support training of new employees to ensure they understand the requirements of the quality management system and how to interact with our specific systems such as EtQ, MCN/MCS, DCC, etc
- Participate in weekly on-call coverage approximately once / month
- Own training for BSA (Break Source Analysis)
