The company needs to ensure that materials, equipment, and assemblies meet quality standards by inspecting them for compliance with manufacturing drawings and specifications.
Requirements
- Verification of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing against engineering drawings
- Utilize measurement devices/tools such as Calipers, Height Gauge, Optical Comparator, micrometers, scales and dimensional measurement systems
- Utilize surface plates, precision measuring tools, gauges (blocks) and other mechanical inspection tools/tooling
- Inspect per IPC, ESD, Solder, CCA inspection, module, and chassis level inspection experience
- Certified to IPC-A-600
- Certified to IPC-A-610
- Certified to IPC/WHMA-A-620
Responsibilities
- Responsible for inspecting materials, equipment and assemblies
- interpreting manufacturing drawings and specifications
- validation of products and documentation for compliance
- Review records for completeness, including Production Order and Engineering Changes
- Inspection support includes CCAs, Modules, Cable inspection, chassis-level inspection, as well as test readiness activities and test monitoring
- Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications, and lists to approve or reject units, test setups, or systems for in-process or final assemblies
- Inspect mechanical and electrical hardware to determine if product meets acceptance or rejection criteria as identified in applicable work procedures
Other
- Interface with Quality Engineers and Product Line Managers to discuss the suitability of inspected parts/materials
- Communication with Quality Engineers to determine product disposition
- Communication with Production Planners to determine daily workflow
- Review Supplier documentation for adherence to Quality Clauses and Drawing Notes
- Support in evaluating First Article Inspection reports, CMM reports, material certifications
