Universal Logistics is looking for a Quality Inspector to support inspection activities associated with the assembly and painting of semi-truck axles and resolve non-conformances.
Requirements
- General knowledge of mechanical and electrical components required for the assembly and painting of semi-truck axles and associated components.
- Capable of inspecting axles and axle components on a moving line.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and scanning of documentation to a network file.
Responsibilities
- Inspecting axles and axle components to verify the correct component installation.
- Validating critical characteristics utilizing gauges, fixtures and templates.
- Completing data entry associated with nonconforming product.
- Documenting completed inspections on applicable hard copy forms and electronic databases.
- Scanning, organizing and preparing quality documentation for retrieval and archive.
- Assisting with the development and inclusion of best practices associated with inspection activities.
- Adaptable and flexible when learning new inspection activities and working at various inspection stations as required.
Other
- Reports directly to the Quality Supervisor/Manager.
- Work directly with Line Leaders and Production Supervisors to resolve non-conformances discovered during the inspection processes.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs or more.
- Must be available to work overtime as required by the customer
- Shift, 6:00am to 2:30pm.
