Siemens Mobility is looking to solve the business and technical problem of ensuring the quality and precision of carbon steel and stainless-steel car bodies for passenger locomotives, coaches, and light rail vehicles manufactured at their facility in Lexington, NC.
Requirements
- Requires basic understanding of assembly and production processes.
- Requires basic understanding of inspection methods and equipment, and the ability to perform complex shop mathematics.
- Ability to interpret and use blueprints, specs, engineering drawings, materials lists and inspection standards.
- Requires a minimum of one-year experience of interfacing with quality functions.
Responsibilities
- Follow general inspection guidelines to conduct critical non-routine visual, dimensional, test and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies and materials.
- Perform complex and critical inspection procedures requiring special set-ups of new or unique equipment and interpretation of test data from a variety of sources.
- May conduct first article inspection of parts and assemblies.
- Make visual inspections and established quality checks.
- Identification and handling of discrepant material, understanding part flow requirements and supporting associated actions.
Other
- High school education or state recognized GED.
- Experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in a Quality Assurance role.
- Willingness to travel to Sacramento, California for training, including an initial trip of at least two weeks and additional travel as needed
- Candidates should be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment when required
- Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required
