Pratt Miller is looking for a Quality Intern to ensure parts are manufactured to proper specifications and provide problem-solving support for issues that arise in the motorsports, defense, and mobility industries.
Requirements
- Understanding of interpretation of engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Basic understanding of measuring instruments used for inspections.
- General knowledge of common manufacturing processes to produce parts, such as machining, metal fabrication, welding, heat treating, etc.
- Technical writing skills for reports and specifications using MS Word and Excel; good platform skills using PowerPoint for presentations.
- Familiarity with manipulating 3D models to be used in 3D metrology measuring software packages
- Ability to interpret measurement findings to provide feedback to manufacturing with the goal of improving part quality
Responsibilities
- First article, in process, and final inspection of parts using a variety of metrology equipment
- Working with manufacturing, engineering, customer, and/or supplier personnel in problem solving efforts
Other
- BS or MS candidate in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
- working individually, under the mentorship of a Quality department mentor, and/or with a small team of engineers/inspection technicians.
- Projects include motorsports, automotive, defense and commercial industries.
