3M is looking for a Quality Manager to lead all facets of a plant quality organization, uphold accountability, develop talent, and create cohesive strategies across all plant functions. The role involves maintaining and improving the Quality Management System in accordance with various regulatory standards and overseeing critical sub-processes within the QMS.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience with one or more of the following areas: manufacturing operations, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, product engineering, product development, quality, and/or EHS in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Three (3) years of experience managing or supervising direct reports
  • Experience managing &/or deploying industry specific quality system requirements beyond ISO9001 (e.g. NIOSH, CSA, ANSI etc.)
  • Experience leading internal and external audit or certified internal auditor ISO9001
  • ASQ certification
  • Process/system oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead all facets of a plant quality organization as a contributing member of the Plant Operating Committee (POC) upholding accountability, developing talent and developing cohesive strategies across all functions within the plant.
  • Manage, Support & Develop Quality Systems, Quality Engineering and Quality Technician staff.
  • Develop & Implement Quality Strategy(ies) for the site and department inclusive of corporate, business and division initiatives.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System in accordance with regulatory and certified body registrations that include but not limited to ISO9001, ISO13485, FDA, and NIOSH.
  • Maintain interaction with division quality organization ensuring plant’s compliance to division and corporate QMS requirements
  • Oversee critical QMS sub-process such as: CAPA, CMP, Supplier Management, Complaints, internal and external audits, non-conforming, scrap, Quality Holds, training, etc
  • Manage appropriate supplier interactions (internal and external) and supplier management process

Other

  • Promote and maintain safe work environments for all employees
  • Possess strengths in key skills necessary for success including: cross functional leadership, problem solving, root cause analysis, team building, process oriented thinking and networking
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university
  • May include up to 10% domestic/international travel
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
