Owens Corning is looking for a Quality Engineer to plan, strategize, and evaluate quality assurance processes by examining systems, measures, and statistical techniques. The role involves auditing, generating and executing training on quality assurance concepts and equipment, and collaborating with internal business partners, customers, and suppliers to inspect quality equipment and recommend improvements.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1-3 years of technical experience in a variety of roles such as engineering, maintenance or manufacturing
- Six Sigma or lean manufacturing experience
- Familiar with ISO 9001 type quality systems
- Knowledge and experience in project management
- TPM
- Ability to integrate information into a conceptual whole and acts after conducting an insightful analysis and an in-depth evaluation of the pros/cons of alternatives
- Organizes, plans and sets priorities based upon deadlines, timelines and what is considered most critical and beneficial for the company
Responsibilities
- Continuously builds an intimate insight and knowledge of fiberglass technical processes, production lines and their products
- Develops and implements procedures and systems to ensure products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations
- Supports experiments or trials for new and existing products to ensure they meet customer’s fitness for use
- Responsible for supporting investigations of all customer complaints, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensures that all control plans, work instructions, and other procedures related to the technical operation of the production lines ensure the safety of employees
- Leads the development, implementation and evaluation of quality processes and procedures in the Plant, all working toward achieving the quality goals of the Plant and delighting the customer
- Drives progress towards process optimization by studying and analyzing performance data then develops and deploys engineering solutions
