Nucor Towers & Structures Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Lead to establish and maintain a culture of quality, improve safety, and manage day-to-day quality activities at their Brigham City, UT division, contributing to the company's strategy to expand beyond its core business into the power distribution market.

Requirements

  • 5 years of direct experience in a Quality Management role for an AISC or ISO certified fabrication shop
  • Experience with AISC certifications and related audit processes
  • Working knowledge of AWS D1.1
  • Knowledge of NDT Methods such as UT, MT, and VT
  • Minimum Level II NDT (UT, MT, and VT) experience
  • Minimum AMPP Level II Coatings Inspector
  • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ability to obtain AWS CWI certification.

Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for day-to-day quality activities at their division.
  • Tracking and reporting on quality performance, back charges, re-work, etc for all departments.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures and audit established procedures internally and externally
  • Lead, train, coach, and develop Quality Department personnel on quality requirements, procedures,
  • Identify potential areas of risk and make recommendations.
  • Experience with AISC certifications and related audit processes
  • Working knowledge of AWS D1.1

Other

  • Leading and fostering a culture of quality at their operating location.
  • Engage team and improve Safety of all NTS operations.
  • Directly responsible for building, coaching and mentoring the quality team at their division.
  • This position will be in Brigham City, UT but may require occasional travel to other production facilities, job sites, vendors/suppliers, etc. on an as required basis.
  • candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
