Fidelity's Systematic Fixed Income Strategies team is looking for a Quantitative Research Intern to assist in designing and developing active systematic investment strategies across global fixed income markets, utilizing a data-driven research and model-based investment process.
Requirements
- Proficiency in at least one programming language
- Good working knowledge Python (or other modeling language) and relational databases
- Familiarity with fixed income analytics
- Familiarity with fixed income trading workflows, data, pricing and market engagement models
- Expertise and knowledge of MSRB and TRACE data
Responsibilities
- designing and developing active systematic investment strategies across global fixed income markets
- researching and back-testing new investment insights in a risk and transaction cost aware fashion across assets like Corporates/Munis/Sovereigns/Fixed Income Derivatives
- work closely with Portfolio Management to understand how systematic strategies are modeled and executed optimally across Fixed Income
- Understand, maintain, and improve analytic infrastructure related to the investment process
- Explain complex quantitative concepts to non-technical people
- Collaborate closely with other investment and technology professionals within the division
Other
- Pursuing a master’s degree in a technical field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, economics, or finance) with an expected graduation date in 2027 or 2028
- Demonstrated experience/interest/skill investment research
- Academic or intellectual interest in financial markets
- Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills, as well as the ability to clearly articulate findings
- Field(s) of study must be in a technical area (STEM) and/or Finance/Economics with a strong programming background
