HRL is looking to develop the next generation of timing, sensing, and quantum networking devices by applying expertise in atomic physics.
Requirements
- Research experience in one or more of the following areas: atomic physics, atomic clocks, chip-scale atomic/photonic devices, quantum optics, nonlinear optics, cavity optomechanics, semiconductor device physics, device design, and RF engineering.
- Experience developing innovative solutions based upon the application of relevant research results from a wide variety of sources.
- Experience with multi-physics simulation (both device and optical system), computer-aided design, layout, and testing.
- A proven track record of problem solving in more than one of the following: free space optics, integrated photonics, fiber optics, microwave systems engineering, custom electronics design, vacuum equipment and hardware, cryogenic equipment.
- A record of publications in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals.

Other

- Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment.
- Willing to travel occasionally.
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
