Broadcom is seeking an R&D Engineer SW Quality to configure and test a Linux based virtual appliance for product data collection, health monitoring/reporting, and integration into cloud-based repository.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, functional, negative, boundary, performance, scale, longevity testing, etc.
- Strong IP networking and troubleshooting skills and protocol knowledge (L2/L3/L4)
- SAN/Storage knowledge
- Configuration and deployment of Linux Docker and Podman based containers
- Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Linux, Windows, and VMWare
- Proficient in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python) for test automation
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand technical specifications and design comprehensive test plans covering functional, integration, regression, and performance testing
- Develop, execute and maintain test cases (both manual and automated) to validate web UI and API functionality
- Use knowledge of Linux environments to test and debug API interactions
- Work closely with development teams to identify, document, and track software defects and bugs using appropriate bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
- Communicate effectively with management, cross-functional teams and stakeholders regarding test progress, results, and recommendations
Other
- Bachelor of Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on software testing experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with a detail oriented approach
- Position requires 100% on premise attendance
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple, parallel tasks and projects
