The Engineering Manager will lead a design team to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget, while also contributing to research-oriented design projects and the conceptual evaluation of next-generation concepts.

- Must be able to utilize the CAD system
- Must be able to utilize the AS400 computer
- Must be able to utilize standard office software
Responsibilities
- On a daily operational basis, schedule, organize, and oversee the work of a mechanical engineering design team and engineering technicians to meet defined project objectives.
- Work with members of his/her team in developing new design concepts.
- Is directly involved with each project within his/her engineering team working with them to resolve design problems throughout a project’s life cycle.
- During fall planning, coordinates estimates of anticipated development costs and development of project specifications / PDCAs as appropriate.
- Works with team members and management / supervisory peers from other departments to develop estimates of machine costs in development.
- Is involved in the formal review process of each machine prior to its release from Engineering.
- Performs design activities associated with early-stage research projects that have not yet progressed into the Concept Engineering phase and frequently involve the conceptual evaluation of next-generation concepts.

- An Engineering Degree or have a very extensive background in machine design.
- Strong leadership skills are also required for managing all design team activities.
