General Atomics (GA) is seeking a Radiation, Reliability, and Specialty Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for executing radiation analysis and reliability engineering, ensuring the successful resolution of advanced technical engineering problems and guiding the development of high-technology systems.

Requirements

  • Space (LEO, MEO and GEO) Radiation Environments, and how they impact electronics and circuits
  • Radiation effects, such as TID (HDR), ELDRS, DDD, Proton and/or Heavy-Ion particles induced SEE and Flash X-Ray Dose
  • Knowledge of radiation effects Microcircuits, Hybrids, Semiconductors and Passive Components fabrication (process technologies)
  • Knowledge of standards; EEE-INST-002, and MIL standard MIL-STD-883, TM1019, Cond A or D, and other related standards for space missions.
  • Radiation Transport analysis
  • Software and analytical; FASTRAD, Creme96, Omere, Spenvis, Matlab
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment is required.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of technical staff and engineers responsible for executing radiation analysis, as well as reliability, availability, and maintainability engineering.
  • Develops innovative but practical solutions to advanced technical problems in engineering.
  • Provides focal point for technical communication within the Company management and may represent the Company as the prime technical contact to customers and/or government regulatory agencies.
  • Presents report(s) at engineering meetings, participates in program reviews and consults on problems.
  • Provides expert guidance and consulting to other staff members working on difficult engineering problems.
  • Anticipates future engineering needs and the modifications required to accomplish a technical goal.
  • Addresses complex and difficult technical issues requiring novel and highly creative approaches drawing on advanced engineering concepts.

Other

  • Manage professional and technical performance of staff to ensure quality, business and financial objectives are achieved.
  • Provide mentorship to team members including performing performance reviews and salary management for staff.
  • Collaborates with other functional groups to appropriately staff projects and ensure timely completion of deliverables and analyses.
  • Ensures technical leadership and excellence is maintained by directing and participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention and development of the required professional and technical talent.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
