Rosenbauer is seeking a Software Test & Support Engineer to ensure their fire apparatus meet high standards of functionality, reliability, and maintainability by bridging product development, shop floor operations, and after-sales service teams.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in software testing, preferably in embedded systems or automotive/off-highway environments required.
  • Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Vector CANoe, Jenkins, Python, Git, Jira) required.
  • Understanding of communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and diagnostic standards (e.g., UDS) required.
  • Experience with vehicle electric DC & AC generation and supply, multiplex wiring required.
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) testing preferred.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of C++
  • Able to work in Agile SDLC

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and execute manual and automated test plans and test cases for embedded software used in Rosenbauer vehicles.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing on software using both hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) test benches and Rosenbauer vehicles.
  • Initiates and implements integrated hardware and software solutions to improve value by increasing quality and performance or by reducing costs.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking systems.
  • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure testability and quality.
  • Support continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and verification of software fixes in both lab and field environments.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field required.
  • Able to find, read, and interpret relevant scientific and technical documentation and standards.
  • Able to actively participate in engineering discussions by listening, asking relevant questions, and suggesting solutions to problems.
  • Able to deal with problems involving a variety of variables in non-standard situations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
