The Realtime Graphics Developer role at Mathys+Potestio is looking to solve the problem of designing and building real-time visual effects, prototypes, and creative tools that support high-quality visual experiences across applications and frameworks.

Requirements

  • proficient in shader languages such as Metal Shading Language (MSL), OpenGL, GLSL, HLSL, or Vulkan
  • strong foundation in modern rendering pipelines
  • understanding of ray tracing, ray marching, volumetric rendering, and real-time lighting models
  • experience with TouchDesigner, Houdini, or Reality Composer Pro is a plus
  • background in graphics programming, rendering, game engines, or real-time VFX
  • experience with Core Animation, Core Graphics, SceneKit, USD, Objective-C, C++, Swift, or building end-to-end apps on Apple platforms
  • familiarity with building shaders, pipelines, and tools for non-engineering collaborators

Responsibilities

  • design, prototype, and implement real-time visual effects and rendering solutions
  • partner with creative directors, designers, producers, and engineers to translate visual direction into highly performant Metal-based rendering systems
  • develop shaders, tools, and pipelines to support both technical and non-technical collaborators
  • support ongoing content development processes
  • maintain rendering tools
  • refine look-dev workflows
  • contribute to the overall success of the team and projects

Other

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, graphics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is preferred
  • candidates must be local to Culver City, Cupertino, or New York City and able to work PST hours
  • available for a 12-month, full-time (40 hours/week) remote contract role
  • ability to work independently on multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities
  • exceptional attention to detail and clear communication skills
