The Engineer-Reliability plays a key role in the lifecycle of a product and is responsible for developing methods that determine the reliability of components/equipment and processes.
Requirements
- Root-cause and Root-Cause Failure Analysis (RCA, RCFA)
- Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
- Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Familiarity with Six Sigma methodology
- Working history with CMMS, vibration analysis, thermography, fluid analysis, motor testing, lubrication requirements, alignment
- 0-5 years of experience
Responsibilities
- Prepare diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations and reports (Metrics) to identify reliability problems and make recommendations for improvements.
- Investigate reliability problems relative to cost limitations for equipment availability repair/replacement costs, availability of materials and equipment, and develops plans that comply with customer demands to avoid equipment failures
- Monitor the equipment to prevent failures that could impede business operations and potentially lead to downtime or a loss of throughput
- Guidance on maintenance, repair, replacement, fabrication, installation, alteration, construction, and design of facility components requiring the application.
- Gathers and examines basic reliability data from field studies or database and correlates data for analysis
