Collins Aerospace is looking to solve the problem of ensuring the reliability and maintainability of military systems and equipment, by hiring an experienced Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineer to provide R&M support to new development programs.

Requirements

  • Experience and knowledge of Reliability and Maintainability analysis
  • Experience with circuit analysis knowledge, and the ability to perform detailed analyses on complex systems
  • Experience with performing detailed analyses on complex mechanical/ Electrical Designs
  • Experience coordinating several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules
  • Active or Existing Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance preferred
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Conducts aerospace Reliability and Maintainability analysis
  • Supports R&M Program Plan Reliability Predictions following MIL-HDBK-217 and/or 217PLUS reliability prediction standards
  • Conducts Failure Modes and Effects (FMEA) / Criticality Analysis (CA) Planning and conducting reliability testing, including Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT), Reliability Enhancement Test (RET), Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) or Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS)
  • Runs Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), including root cause analysis Maintainability analysis and predictions Built-In Test (BIT) design/verification analysis BIT / Maintainability Demonstration
  • Analyzes and predict the reliability of military systems and equipment by identifying potential failure modes
  • Conducts root cause analysis and implementing design improvements to ensure mission success by maximizing system uptime and minimizing failures throughout the lifecycle
  • Adheres to strict customer driven reliability standards and guidelines

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • Must be able to work in a hybrid setting, with location in one of the following Collins Aerospace sites: Colorado Springs CO or Cedar Rapids IA
  • Must be able to work onsite, with some flexibility for remote work
