The Reliability Engineer's main goal is to boost the reliability, availability, and performance of manufacturing equipment and facilities at Schreiber Foods, ensuring smooth operations, cutting downtime, and boosting efficiency and profits.

Requirements

  • Licenses/Certifications in Maintenance, Reliability, Tribology, Lubrication, and other specialized areas are a plus.
  • Experience in Data Analytics, Vibration Monitoring, Tribology, Manufacturing/Operations, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, proven record of asset performance improvement
  • Understanding of World-class Reliability and Maintenance concepts, metrics, Statistics, Project Management, Data Analytics, Engineering Principles, ISO Standards, Manufacturing, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Planning & Scheduling, Proactive and Predictive Maintenance.
  • Skills regarding failure detection and care of electronics, PLCs, robotics, boilers & refrigeration equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Experience with advanced statistics and engineering mathematics for analysis.
  • Knowledge of SQF (Safe Quality Food) requirements.
  • Familiarity with reliability engineering tools and software.

Responsibilities

  • Asset Optimization: Optimizes the performance of manufacturing equipment and facilities by identifying opportunities for improvement in reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Data Analysis: Evaluates data from equipment sensors, maintenance records, and other sources to identify trends and patterns that may indicate potential reliability issues or opportunities for improvement.
  • Failure & Root Cause: Investigates the root causes of failures to understand why they happened and how they can be prevented in the future.
  • Asset Care Strategy: Develops and improves proactive, predictive, and preventive maintenance and tool strategy to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and serviced to prevent unplanned downtime and equipment failures.
  • Risk Assessment: Assesses potential risks associated with equipment failures and develop strategies to mitigate these risks, such as implementing redundancy measures or upgrading critical equipment.
  • Lifecycle Management: Develops strategies for managing the lifecycle of manufacturing assets, including asset replacement, upgrades, and decommissioning, to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness over time.
  • Together with the leadership team, ensures compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10-15% quarterly to other Schreiber locations, suppliers/vendors
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance (at least state minimum- more might be required), acceptable driving record per Schreiber Foods discretion, and vehicle that will ensure applicant can meet the travel necessities of the position are required.
  • Authorization to work in the country in which the role is based.
  • Collaboration with and working closely with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, operations, engineering, Environmental Health Safety, and quality assurance.
