Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to drive advanced analytics, machine learning, and data governance initiatives that shape the future of healthcare by transforming data into actionable insights that improve patient care and operational performance.
Requirements
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure ML, Microsoft Fabric) and programming languages (Python, R, SQL)
- Microsoft SQL, Power BI, AI/ML certifications
- Epic certifications in Clarity or related modules
- Cogito Fundamentals, Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Data Model & Development (may be obtained after hire)
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement best practices for data science and analytics across the organization
- Design and optimize data pipelines, automation workflows, and model deployment strategies
- Lead advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, and AI initiatives for healthcare applications
- Collaborate with Enterprise Intelligence & Data Analytics to standardize tools and frameworks
- Provide technical mentorship to data scientists and analysts
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and ethical AI standards
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and platforms
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 10+ years in data science, analytics, or business intelligence (healthcare preferred)
- 7+ years in development roles focused on data science
- Six Sigma or Lean certifications
- Communicate complex insights to clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders
