The Ohio State University's Sensory Evaluation Center (SEC) is looking to solve the problem of managing day-to-day activities and services, including contract sensory studies, faculty and student research, and administrative support for contract processes.
Requirements
- Skilled in planning and executing sensory evaluation experiments and trials, including discrimination testing, descriptive analysis, and consumer tests
- Competency in the statistical evaluation of sensory data
- Familiarity and experience with Compusense and Qualtrics is preferred
- Experience supporting and managing the day-to-day operations of a sensory program
- Experience mentoring and/or managing junior sensory personnel including students, interns, and/or technicians
- Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects
- Self-motivated and collaborative
Responsibilities
- Serves as the point of contact for clients seeking services or requesting details of activities provided by the SEC
- Outlines study approaches and scope for contract sensory projects in response to client testing objectives or inquiries
- Prepares draft statement of work, cost estimates, and service agreements for review based on client needs
- Supports the organization of day-to-day execution of SEC activities, including client projects, student projects, internal grant support, and outreach
- Prepares client reports describing methods, results, and interpretation
- Assists with the maintenance and calibration of sensory equipment to help ensure reliable test results
- Coordinates and provides guidance to staff and student workers on execution of experimental protocols
Other
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable
- 4 years of relevant experience required
- 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred
