The University of Chicago's Department of Psychology, specifically the Attention, Perception, and EXperience (APEX lab) within the Center for Practical Wisdom, is seeking a research analyst to support psychological research funded by the Lily Endowment. This research aims to scientifically understand how language experience shapes our connections to others and institutions, and how we perceive, understand, and care about the world. The project involves studies in English and Spanish, examining decision-making, social connections, and the influence of beliefs and experience on these processes.
Requirements
- Experienced in analysis and modeling of EEG datasets.
- Experienced in handling pupillometry.
- Experienced in advanced statistical analyses.
- Knowledge in relevant scientific field.
- Advanced knowledge of research techniques or methods.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with pupillometry, EEG and fMRI acquisition from human subjects and imaging from human subjects.
- Managing data files and database.
- Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens.
- Conducts literature reviews.
- Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
- Work with human data in a team-oriented environment and assist with data cleaning and analyses.
- Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.
Other
- Work and collaborate with scientists from a range of disciplines and religious scholars.
- Write scientific reports and is expected to present research to the Catholic Theological Union bi-annually and at scientific conferences, workshops, and meetings.
- Following established procedures or protocols; and collaborating with other university labs.
- Performs other related work as needed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
