RHI Magnesita is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Refractories R &D Intern to join our Research and Development team at our York, PA lab facility to provide hands-on experience in sample analysis and reporting for plant and customer support projects
Requirements
- Enrollment in a technical, materials engineering, or chemistry discipline
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work with high-temperature test equipment and in potentially dusty environments
- Willingness to learn new test methods and analytical skills
Responsibilities
- Perform post-mortem analysis of refractory products
- Conduct chemical analysis using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) techniques
- Test physical properties (strength, density, porosity, etc.) for various refractory types
- Organize data and prepare detailed reports
Other
- Desire to work in a research or manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work on-site for a minimum of 8 months
