Texas A&M University Health Science Center's School of Pharmacy is seeking a Research Assistant to support the Pharmaceutical Sciences team by conducting research, analyzing data, and maintaining laboratory operations.
Requirements
- Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.
- Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.
- Follow all institutional, biosafety, and animal care guidelines (e.g., IACUC, IBC, Lab specific).
- Participate in laboratory safety training and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Responsibilities
- Intensively participates in data analysis and preliminary data collection through accurately following experimental protocols (e.g., cell culture, PCR, ELISA, Western blot, immunohistochemistry, mice behavioral study).
- Compiles data files set from research teams.
- Collects, interprets, and analyzes data, compiles results, prepares reports, and presents their conclusions.
- Maintains mouse colony in the vivarium, performs surgery on the xenograft mice, conducts behavioral test on mice, generates preliminary data for the lung cancer project and Alzheimer’s disease projects.
- Participates in poster and podium presentation of the collected results.
- Ships laboratory agents for analysis.
- Helps train new lab members or undergraduate students and graduate students on techniques and safety protocols.

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional, enjoy working in a high-volume environment and be able to apply strong organizational skills while being flexible in their daily routine.
