Texas A&M University is looking to advance research on magnetohydrodynamic flow in heterogeneous media by developing specialized software for simulations.
Requirements
- The candidate must have excellent knowledge of magneto-hydrodynamics and the elementary mathematical theory for these partial differential equations.
- The individual must be able to immediately program in the software SFEMaNS using object-oriented Fortran 2033 and MPI.
- The individual must be familiar with the linear algebra parallel library PESTSc.
- Working knowledge of office software.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the development of specialized software to simulate three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic flows
- Planning and executing specific phases of the research project
- Coordinates the scheduling of mathematics research on magnetohydrodynamics flow
- Develops procedures, monitors timelines, and identifies issues
- Publishing results through professional outlets
- Prepares reports and database queries on select Texas A&M systems pertaining to research conducted about magnetohydrodynamics flow
Other
- Appropriate bachelor’s degree in physics or related field.
- Ability to move up to 10 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to move light, medium or heavy objects with assistance.
- 4 months of research assistant experience.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
