San Diego State University’s HealthLINK Center is seeking a Research Assistant to support secondary data analysis research methods, epidemiological research methods, and community-engaged autism research. The role will involve supporting the development and implementation of secondary data analysis protocols, including cleaning, merging, and analyzing existing datasets, and contributing to collaboration with external partners.
Requirements
- Ability to quickly learn and/or apply data science and secondary data analysis research methods and procedures
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions thoroughly and accurately
- Ability to follow established research study protocols and procedures
- Ability to efficiently use Word, Excel, and to use or learn statistical software programs to organize study data
- Completion of sufficient coursework to successfully perform the required duties of the position, OR Equivalent of one-year related experience in secondary data analysis.
- Strong foundational knowledge of quantitative research methods is essential.
- Proficiency with statistical analysis software such as R, SPSS, MPlus, SAS, and/or STATA.
Responsibilities
- Assist with cleaning, merging, and organizing datasets for analysis.
- Create and maintain documents, such as protocol documents and how-to guides for data preparation and analytic procedures
- Conduct data quality control checks
- Perform data cross-validation
- Assist with analytic procedures
- Prepare written summaries, reports, and presentations for various meetings
- Efficiently use Word, Excel, and to use or learn statistical software programs to organize study data
