Carnegie Mellon University's Stigma, Health Equity, and Resilience (SHER) Lab is looking to solve the problem of understanding the underlying mechanisms that link stigma and health, and identifying factors that promote health equity for stigmatized populations.
Requirements
- Experience with collecting psychophysiology (e.g., impedance cardiography) in a laboratory setting and/or via wearable devices
- Prior research experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Responsibilities
- Assist with human behavioral experiments and leading recruitment efforts for studies
- Engage in all aspects of data collection, including: recruitment and screening of participants, obtaining participant consent, subject assignment, outlining experimental protocol, and administration of questionnaires
- Work with undergraduate research assistants in a variety of lab related tasks including the screening and recruiting of participants, data entry, and study protocol
- Oversee organization and maintenance of lab equipment
- Support lab manager with administrative tasks, as needed
Other
- B.A. or B.S. degree in psychology or a related field is highly preferred
- Interest in social or health psychology
- A passion for working with understudied and stigmatized communities
- Successful Background Check Investigation
- Ability to effectively interact with a varied population of internal and external partners at a high level of integrity
