The Ohio State University's Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Research Associate to support research on how immune cells communicate and coordinate within the tumor microenvironment, and how these interactions shape responses to immunotherapy.
Requirements
- Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic and/or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required
- 1 year of relevant experience in a biological/health science research capacity is required

Responsibilities
- Participate in planning and design of research projects. Execute and manage research projects using molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, Western blot, tissue culture, PCR and flow cytometry; prepares solutions and culture media; collects, sorts and processes tissue and blood samples.
- Collect, analyze and interpret research data; assists with development and implementation of new and/or revised research methodologies and techniques.
- Perform critical analysis of literature relevant to research being undertaken.
- Assist in the preparation of research grant proposals, research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at national and conferences and workshops, and in the writing of project reports, articles and other documents.
- Monitor and enforce laboratory safety procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, as well as local, state and federal regulations.
- Train research staff; manages daily operations of the laboratory.
- Oversees and initiates procurement of lab supplies and monitor expenses.

- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate biological/health science or equivalent experience required
- Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
