Carnegie Mellon University's Materials Science and Engineering Department is seeking a Research Assistant to join the Cohen-Karni team to develop cutting-edge science and technologies for bioelectrical devices, aiming to enhance their functionality, performance, and longevity with clinical translation as the ultimate goal.
Requirements
- Experience with chemical wet lab work is required.
- Experience with in vivo experimentation is desired.
- Experience programming in Matlab and/or Python is desired.
- Experience with SEM/TEM/Raman/XPS/XRD is desired.
- Coursework in electrochemistry is required.
Responsibilities
- Collects, verifies and manages data.
- Performs data analysis in order to produce reports.
- Documents and processes results.
- Develops quantitative models.
- Designs experiments and research protocols
- Assisting in the fabrication and deployment of unique electrochemical actuators
- Contributes to overall project planning and acts as lead to coordinate portions of a large project or study.
Other
- Maintains administrative records.
- Tracks and adheres to established budgets.
- Writes and edits recommendations and reports.
- Ensures project deadlines are met.
- The ability to work well in a self-paced, independent manner, while working well in cooperation with team members and partners is required.
