Asimov is looking to advance humanity's ability to design living systems and enable biotechnologies with outsized benefit to society by developing a mammalian synthetic biology platform. The Research Associate, High-Throughput Processes will help push the boundaries of high-throughput cell line engineering for biopharmaceuticals.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with mammalian cell culture is required.
- Previous experience with molecular biology assays and laboratory automation is preferred but not required.
- You are adept in the use of spreadsheets such as Google Sheets or Excel.
- Basic coding experience is preferred but not required.
- You have experience in executing detailed, multi-part processes that span the physical and digital world.
Responsibilities
- Perform CHO cell line transfection and culturing using plate-based high-throughput protocols and laboratory automation.
- Use state-of-the-art instruments to perform various assays on cell pellets, culture supernatants, isolated DNA and RNA, such as cell viability, protein titer, nucleic acid quantification and flow cytometry.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of studies in an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN).
- Record and maintain data and metadata in our Laboratory Information System (LIMS) to track every step of these processes.
- Help identify bottlenecks and gaps in our processes to shape their development and improve workflows.
- Contribute to projects on advanced genetic design for cell line engineering.
Other
- BS or MS in Biological Engineering, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or related field.
- This role will begin as a full-time, 6 month contract.
- Dependent on business needs, there is potential for the contract to be extended or converted into a permanent position.
- Company culture is key to Asimov, and ours is a culture of recombination; we believe that our mission can only be achieved by bringing together a diverse team with a mixture of backgrounds and perspectives.
