Ohalo is seeking a Research Associate I to contribute to the advancement of plant variety development by assisting with plant tissue culture, plant regeneration, and plant genomic analysis.
Requirements

- Experience with media preparation

Responsibilities
- Assist with plant tissue culture
- Assist with plant regeneration
- Assist with plant genomic analysis
- Maintain organized records for plant materials and experiments
- Monitor plant conditions and growth
- Help execute tissue culture experiments
- Process plant materials in preparation for sending to the greenhouse and process plant materials received back from the greenhouse
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Plant Science, or related field with 0-3 years of experience.
- Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions, ask clarifying questions and articulate challenges.
- Ability to take notes such that instructions can be carried out accurately again at later times.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time and do repetitive motions.
- Ability to take a proactive approach to routine tasks and to actively ask for more tasks if there’s free time after routine and assigned tasks are completed.
- Must be observant, patient and careful.
- Must have a positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.
- Must be passionate about learning and enthusiastic about plants and hands-on work.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel and Word) and Google Suite (Mail, Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Drive).
