The Department of Psychiatry at UT Austin is seeking a Research Associate I to support a clinical trial investigating transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for the treatment of depression in adolescents. The role involves direct patient interaction and technical procedures related to the trial.
Requirements
- Basic experience with scientific equipment ordinarily used in college laboratory work.
Responsibilities
- Completing MRI L1 and L2 training. Scheduling and completing brain MRIs on clinical trial participants.
- Collecting urine samples from trial participants for drug and pregnancy screens.
- Completing transcranial magnetic stimulation training and delivering TMS to trial participants.
- Giving trial participants measures for their symptoms and recording responses.

- Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering or technical field.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate (written and verbal) and interact skillfully with investigators, staff, and researchers; work both as a team member and independently without continuous supervision; work with overlapping projects and with sensitive and confidential information; adapt to a dynamic and deadline-driven, customer service-oriented environment.
