Twist Bioscience is seeking to expand its bioanalytical department by hiring a Research Associate to support the Protein Analytics team in meeting project-specific deliverables across discovery campaigns and contract services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline, and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
- Strong knowledge of biologics characterization, preferably in recombinant protein purification, assay development and protein characterization
- Direct experience with SDS-PAGE and protein quantification
- Ability to troubleshoot scientific processes
- Previous experience with AKTA, HPLC, Hamilton, Prometheus Panta, and/or Octet instruments preferred
- Industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience with ELISA and endotoxin assays
Responsibilities
- Developing, running, and troubleshooting antibody and protein purification using affinity and ion exchange chromatography
- Performing HPLC-based antibody characterization assays (i.e. SEC, HIC and CIC) and assessing antibody developability using techniques such as BVP ELISA, AC-SINS, DLS, and nanoDSF
- Sample handling, sample inventory tracking and assisting with automation integration into the department
- Concurrently execute multiple antibody discovery projects requiring wet lab activities, data analysis, report generation and preparation of deliverables
- Record and communicate experimental details, draft reports, and deliver data with a high level of integrity and ethics
