Altos Labs is looking to restore cell health and resilience through cell rejuvenation to reverse disease, injury, and the disabilities that can occur throughout life. The Research Associate will assist in developing cell models and conducting phenotypic assays, as well as assisting with plasmid generation, molecular biology experiments, and downstream tissue processing.
Requirements
- Mammalian cell culture experience is required.
- Basic molecular biology techniques are required.
- Experience with genomics assays and NGS library preparation is required.
- Experience with tissue processing is required.
- Experience with stable cell line generation
- Experience with lentivirus and AAV generation
- In vivo experience
Responsibilities
- Maintain cell culture models and generate stable cell lines.
- Conduct phenotypic in vitro assays, including ELISA, qPCR, immunofluorescence imaging and FACS, across different cell types.
- Generate plasmids and scale up production using standard molecular biology pipelines.
- Process tissue through standard genomics pipelines (e.g. generation of bulk and single cell RNA sequencing libraries)
- Thoroughly document processes and results.
- Assist with routine lab tasks (e.g. lab management, ordering, receiving).
- Present findings at internal group meetings.
Other
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree plus at least two years of wet lab experience in a molecular and cell biology lab (industry or academia).
- Excellent record keeping skills in a lab setting (familiarity with ELNs preferred).
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with a broad range of people.
- Demonstrated high productivity and ability to complete work in a timely manner.
- The individual must be detail-oriented, have strong communication skills, and be willing to work in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.
- Altos currently requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to legally required exemptions (e.g., due to a medical condition or sincerely-held religious belief).
