The Chan Zuckerberg Biohub San Francisco is looking to investigate the fundamental mechanisms underlying disease and develop new technologies that will lead to actionable diagnostics and effective therapies, specifically studying how cell-cell communication leads to the formation of organs in a self-organizing process using zebrafish as a model system.
Requirements
- 1 year hands-on experience in molecular biology
- Prior work with zebrafish is preferred, especially with the generation of transgenic lines and microinjections
- Prior experience with confocal microscopy
- BS/BA (or equivalent) with prior laboratory experience
- Attention to detail and very strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and work both independently and collaboratively across platforms
Responsibilities
- Help us maintain our zebrafish colony
- Create and maintain a library of cell lines as needed for various studies
- Generate transgenic lines using state-of-the-art techniques
- Conduct live imaging experiments while contributing their ideas to research projects
