GenScript Biotech Corporation is seeking a Research Associate to develop and optimize RNA-based tools for therapeutic and research applications, to make humans and nature healthier through biotechnology.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of laboratory experience in RNA biology (industry or academic setting).
- Proficiency in RNA handling techniques and enzymatic manipulations.
- Familiarity with cell culture and transfection methods is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple experiments simultaneously.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in RNA synthesis, modification, characterization, and functional assays.
- Experience with techniques such as agarose/formaldehyde gel electrophoresis, Bioanalyzer/TapeStation, RT-qPCR, and NGS.
Responsibilities
- Perform in vitro transcription (IVT) for mRNAs, including optimization of yield, purity, and integrity.
- Conduct RNA purification using chromatographic and precipitation-based methods.
- Design and execute experiments to assess RNA stability, translation efficiency, and functionality in cell-free and cell-based systems.
- Prepare and analyze RNA samples using techniques such as agarose/formaldehyde gel electrophoresis, Bioanalyzer/TapeStation, RT-qPCR, and NGS.
- Assist in evaluating novel RNA modifications
- Maintain accurate lab notebooks, organize data, and present results in team meetings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, following SOPs and adhering to safety and quality standards.
Other
- Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or related field, Master is preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
